Camping and Parking

There is a camp site for participants only on the Nothe Gardens. The route to the campsite will be signed - you can also follow the brown signs to the Nothe Fort

Campers can arrive from 4pm on Friday 2nd July, please ask for Su Lewis who will be able to provide you
with all the relevant information you need.

  • Toilets and showers will be available on the site.
  • There will be a charge of £5 per tent for one night, or £10 for the whole weekend (Friday night - Sunday night)
  • Tents must be pitched 3 metres apart
  • No cars are permitted on the grass. The Club has negotiated a limited number of concessionary parking tickets with the Council please ask at the information tent for an official voucher for your vehicle. You will also need to display a 'pay and display' voucher of the relevant fee in your car.
  • Camper vans and caravans can be parked on the hard-standing next to the grassed area as directed by Club Officials - not on the grass. There are no electrical hook-ups for vans.
  • Catering Marquee: Breakfast will be available on the Saturday and Sunday. Hot and cold food will be available thereafter.

Over-night storage, launch and recovery of gigs

Overnight storage of gigs on trailers is at the secure area of Weymouth Port, behind the Pavilion Theatre. This is available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.

Launch and recovery of gigs will take place from the Public Slipway close to Debenhams and the multi storey car park on the Inner Harbour.

Trailers must be returned to the secure area of the port after unloading.

Towing vehicles will be provided with a free parking permit allowing them to park at either the Pavilion car park next to the secure area or in the Nothe Gardens car parks. The permit will be issued by the club member on duty at the slipway.

Coxens please note:

  • the Town Bridge opens on the even hour throughout the day and at these times the area around the bridge can be very busy.
  • There are rowing ferries (small boats), crossing the harbour just downstream of the lifeboat.

The changeover pontoons will be situated on the south side of the outer harbour beneath the Nothe Fort.

  • For the Camp Site follow the gig signs and the brown signs to 'Nothe Fort'
  • For the secure area of the Port foolow road signs to 'Car Ferry'
  • For public slipway - The very large white building close to the harbour side, visible as you approach Weymouth past Radipole Lake, is Debenhams - the slipway is just past the store on the right. If there are railway tracks in the road you are going in the right direction….!
